Kathy Jennings was elected Delaware’s 46th Attorney General in 2018. She is focused on making the criminal justice system more fair and equal for everyone—regardless of the color of your skin, the size of your bank account, or the zip code where you live.

As a longtime prosecutor, Kathy has handled scores of cases, including matters of domestic violence, sexual assault, and murder. In one of the most well-known cases in the history of the state, Kathy prosecuted Delaware’s only known serial killer, marking the first time that DNA analysis was admitted into evidence in a Delaware court.

Kathy was eventually named State Prosecutor and later Chief Deputy Attorney General. While serving as Chief Deputy, Kathy, along with others, created the Consumer Fraud Division to protect consumers against fraud and abuse.

As Attorney General, Kathy has taken on a host of successful criminal justice reform measures. She’s also overseen an expansion of the Fraud Division, including the establishment of an Impact Litigation Unit, a White Collar Crime Unit, and a Consumer Mediation Unit.

Kathy is a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, the University of Delaware, and Villanova University School of Law. She and her family live in Wilmington.
